Broncos roster series: No. 81, WR Tim Patrick

Apr 27, 2023

Broncos Wire's 90-man offseason roster series continues today with a look at sixth-year wide receiver Tim Patrick, No. 81.

Before the Broncos: Patrick (6-4, 212 pounds) was a three-year standout at the University of Utah before becoming an undrafted free agent out of college. After brief stints with the Baltimore Ravens and San Franciso 49ers, Patrick landed on the Denver Broncos practice squad mid-way through the 2017 season. He would later become an integral part of the offense.

Broncos tenure: After his 2017 campaign on the practice squad, Patrick made the 2018 53-man roster with Denver. Patrick played in all 16 games last season, earning four starts. In 2019, Patrick was limited to eight games (starting two) due to injury. In 2020, Patrick made a huge leap, playing and starting 15 games, before starting 16 games in 2021. In 2022, Patrick tore his ACL in training camp, costing him a chance to play with quarterback Russell Wilson last fall.

Chance to make the 53-man roster: Patrick is a lock to make the team. Patrick may be a bona fide No. 1 receiver, who earned a big contract before the 2022 season. If he remains healthy, Patrick will be a part of the Broncos’ top line of receivers, which includes Courtland Sutton, Jerry Jeudy and Marvin Mims. Hopefully, Patrick's return will facilitate a better-looking offensive attack in 2023.
