Track: Three titles for local athletes at state meet
Aaron Cummings of Hartford, JV Myles of Germantown, and Nathan Taylor of Menomonee Falls ended the year in first place at the WIAA state track and field meet in LaCrosse on June 2-3.
Cummings won the Division I pole vault after he cleared the bar at 16 feet, 8 inches, a new record for the state meet.
Also for Hartford, the 4×800 meter relay team team of Thomas Binns, Mason Weber, Nash Merklein, Adam Weyer, Michael Leiberg and Harsh Patel finished sixth with a time of 7:55.75.
Myles won the Division I triple jump on June 2 with a distance of 47 feet, 4.25 inches, which he covered on his first attempt. Cummings and Myles competed after thunderstorms delayed Division I competition by several hours on June 2. The pole vault competition was moved indoors and was completed before the lights went out at the track around 11 p.m. The triple jump competition was not completed until the lights came back on within a half hour.
The next day, two Germantown boys relay teams placed fourth in their events. The 4×200 meter relay team of Vance Burnham, Will Van Fossen, Jonas Price, and JV Myles finished their relay with a time of 1:28.00. The 4×400 meter relay team of Price, AJ Willard, Joey Knopp, and Bennett Krause finished their relay with a time of 3:19.77.
Taylor won the boys 110 meter hurdles on June 3, finishing first with a time of 14.41.
Franklin Kunfira of West Bend West finished sixth in the 100 meter dash with a time of 10.96. He later finished fifth in the 200 meter dash with a time of 21.94.
In girls competition, Charley Brinks of Menomonee Falls finished fifth in the 100 meter dash with a time of 12.41. She also finished fifth in the 200 meter dash with a time of 25.29. Teammate Gracie Haensgen finished seventh in the 400 meter dash with a time of 59.92.
Slinger's Summer Schuster finished second in the girls 3200 meter Division I run on June 3 with a time of 10:42.75. She also finished sixth in the 1600 meter run with a time of 4:55.61.
In Division 2, the Kettle Moraine Lutheran girls 4×200 meter relay team of Chloe Reuter, Sydney Falkowski, Linnea Peterson, Mayda Conrad, Rachel Weed, and Julia Wendt finished fifth with a time of 1:45.18.
Other results, boys competitionMenomonee Falls: Nolan Anderson of Menomonee Falls finished 14th in the 100 meter dash with a time of 11.26 and 11th in the 200 meter dash with a time of 22.35. Quintin Piefer finished 14th in the 200 meter dash with a time of 50.89.
Germantown: Jayson Koel of Germantown finished 17th in the 400 meter dash with a time of 51.42. Jack Wanezek finished ninth in the 800 meter run with a time of 1:57.15. Dillon Walker finished 22nd in the 1600 meter run with a time of 4:32.66 and 19th in the 3200 meter run with a time of 9:31.81. Jonas Price finished 11th in the 300 meter hurdles with a time of 40.36.
Slinger: Michael Loomans finished 14th in the 800 meter run with a time of 1:57.91.
Hartford: Adam Weyer finished ninth in the 1600 meter run with a time of 4:23.21. Nash Merklein finished 12th in the 3200 meter run with a time of 9:19.85. Thomas Binns finished 19th in the 800 meter run with a time of 1:59.20. Ben Bunton finished tied for 13th in the high jump by crossing the bar at 6 feet.
Sussex Hamilton: The 4×800 meter relay team of Cameron Bratzke, Will LaCroix, Evan Bunker, Tyler Moore, Jackson Pritzl and Justice Bates finished 10th with a time of 8:02.16.
West Bend West: The 4×800 meter relay team of Tyler May, Carson Hammer, Andrew Hartzell, Nathan Butters, Jeremy Kehoe, and Grant Walker finished18th with a time of 8:13.10. Cameron McAndrews finished ninth in the high jump by crossing the bar a 6-2.
West Bend West: Nolan Diffor finished tied for 17th in the high jump by crossing the bar at 6 feet. Logan Gregor finished tied for 18th in the pole vault by crossing the bar at 13 feet.
Kettle Moraine Lutheran (Division 2): Joshua Anhalt finished 16th in the 800 meter run with a time of 2:04.36. Ryan Weed finished 14th in the 300 meter hurdles with a time of 42.49. The 4×400 meter relay team of Evan Hadler, Ethan Sprengel, Ryan Weed, Joshua Anhalt, Kyle Kieper and Nathan Kabelowsky finished 15th with a time of 3:31.94. the 4×800 meter relay team of Kyle Kieper, Micah Vanderhoof, Noah Micheel, Joshua Anhalf, Piper Lickering and Ethan Rodell finished 13th with a time of 8:16.21.
Living Word Lutheran (Division 3): Andrew Gahan finished 12th in the discus with a throw of 129-06.

Piper Schuster finished 18th in the 3200 meter run with a time of 11:44.03 and 19th in the 1600 meter run with a time of 5:10.14. Malena Benz finished 10th in the high jump by crossing the bar at 5-2.
West Bend West: Rylee Faehling finished 17 in the 300 meter hurdles with a time of 48.41. The 4×200 meter relay team of Rylie Faehling, Gianna Hemauer, Josie Mesa, Guiomar Lopez Navarro, Skyler McIlvried, and Jenna Pierre finished 20th in the event with a time of 1:47.83. The 4×400 meter relay team of Jenna Pierre, Rylie Faehling, Josephine Mesa, Guiomar Lopez Navarro, Siera Buechler, and Carol Ann Bruskiewicz finished 19th with a time 4:13.90.
West Bend East: Dakota Erickson finished tied for 19th in the high jump by crossing the bar at 4-10.
Germantown: The 4×100 meter relay team of Macie Daniel, Addie Bushkie, Rylie Olson, Addison Braidigan, Blyss McCune, and Miranda Leffler finished 20th with a time of 51.51. The 4×800 meter relay team of Lizzy Liker, Erin Fredrickson, Samyiah Fox, Kate Ittner, Keira Lorbecki, and Ella Armstrong finished 20th in the event with a time of 10:03.97. Piper Eby finished 10th in the discus with a throw of 116-11.
Kettle Moraine Lutheran (Division 2) Mayda Conrad finished 14th in the 200 meter dash with a time of 26.35. The 4×400 meter relay team of Chloe Reuter, Kaitlyn Scheunemann, Sydney Falkowski, Linnea Peterson, Taylor Schwalenberg and Ava Wendt finished 11th with a time of 4:07.15. Amanda Hillman finished 13th in the discus with a throw of 104-05.
Living Word Lutheran (Division 3): Heleyna Weiss finished 10th in the triple jump by covering a a distance of 16-2.25.
