Field's distance-running prowess was crystal clear at the Division II Salem District track and field meet.

Indeed, the Falcons qualified three runners for the Austintown Regional in the 1,600 meters alone. Freshman Madelyn Adams (second, 5:39.44) and junior Julia Potts (fourth, 5:51.40) both excelled in the girls 1,600 while junior Sean Silk was third in the boys 1,600 (4:29.23).

Portage County also flashed its customary power in the throws at Salem, highlighted by Garfield senior Jesse Grace winning the shot put (52 feet, 5 inches) and finishing as the runner-up (152-9) in the discus. Field, meanwhile, had two throwers advance in the discus as junior Michaela Herendeen (110-11) and senior Reagan Daugintis (107-11) finished third and fourth, respectively.
