Which Married at First Sight couples are still together? Where MAFS 2023 cast are now
In the summer of 2022, a handful of unknown Australian singletons embarked on the tenth season of Married at First Sight Australia, the show that would push them into a globally-televised process in which they would walk down the aisle to marry a pre-selected spouse.
The marriages sparked a series of exposing challenges, where the new couples were forced to take on confronting conversations in a bid to deepen their connections and ultimately find love.
Some relationships quickly disintegrated when couples were either blatantly incompatible or cast-members appeared insincere in their motives, while other marriages flourished under the guidance of the show's experts – John, Mel and Allesandra.
Filming for the series wrapped a year ago, and the season finale aired in Australia in early April. In this time, some cast members have publicly moved on, while a few couples have remained a seemingly strong unit.
Here's where everyone has ended up – one year after filming finished.
Warning – spoilers ahead…
Melissa and Josh were the show's oldest couple and one of the first pairs to realise they were incompatible before leaving the series in the first few weeks.
The couple had a happy wedding day and enjoyed brief marital bliss before things started to unravel on the honeymoon, when they began to clash over attitudes towards sex and intimacy.
After a few weeks of increasing arguments, Josh decided to write "leave" twice and the experts allowed him to go – despite Melissa's desire to stay.
Melissa's outspoken sexual nature led to public criticism and some fans of the show expressed disapproval at her approach to Josh. However, Josh came forward to defend his former wife after the show aired in Australia.
"I think that we had some really beautiful moments, but we also had some moments of reflection, and I think that both of those will be pretty long-lasting," he wrote online.
"Please do not attack Mel. It doesn't make me happy. It doesn't give me any satisfaction. It doesn't raise me up at all."
However, there was no water under the bridge for Melissa, who recently spoke to the Daily Mail Australia, where she accused Josh of having a secret affair with married cast member Lyndall, who denies the allegations.
Neither Josh or Melissa appear to be in new relationships yet.
Lyndall and Cameron had an instant connection at the altar and for a long time they were one of the experiment's strongest couples, but everything started to fall apart when the pair met their respective in-laws. Let's just say things got ugly.
Although they made it to the final commitment ceremony, the vow exchange didn't go well for the pair, with Lyndall saying Cameron made her feel like a burden.
In a gob-smacking commitment ceremony first, Lyndall walked away from Cameron before he had the chance to speak – stating that she wanted to build a life that she was proud of.
According to an Instagram post, Lyndall has spent the summer since "healing", following the denied reports that she had a brief fling with fellow cast-member Josh.
Cameron told 9Entertainment that he has a new girlfriend from Darwin, Australia, saying: "We’re sitting happy. I can be myself, I can be normal, I don't have to be someone I’m not. I don't have to talk about feelings every two seconds."
Bronte and Harrison got off to an incredibly rocky start after it was revealed during their wedding day that Harrison was in fact already in a relationship with a woman outside of the experiment.
Things only worsened for the pair after Harrison proceeded to tell Bronte he did not find her attractive after they slept together, before taking the phone number of a woman in a club midway through the series.
Despite the many obstacles in their way – one of which being Bronte's family and friends’ dislike of Harrison – the couple managed to achieve relative stability towards the end of the experiment.
But it wasn't to be and during the final dinner party, which was filmed before the last commitment ceremony, the honesty box challenge tipped their relationship over the edge, with Bronte breaking up with Harrison at the table in front of all the other couples.
Since the show aired, the pair have been embroiled in a bitter feud that has led them to release a series of tell-all interviews and several petty TikToks.
Bronte has posted photos enjoying a holiday with her sister and was spotted holding hands with an unknown person, who the Daily Mail Australia described as a "mystery man."
Harrison has already moved on publicly with new girlfriend Gina.
Melinda did not like Layton when they met at the aisle, saying: "he may be punching just a little!"
She added, "I’d have swiped left. I’m a nine and a half, on a bad day!"
However – by some miracle – the couple grew to become one of the most stable partnerships in the competition pretty quickly.
They have remained solid throughout the experiment and have stayed together since the series wrapped. Melinda even posted a compellation video of their time together, over Katy Perry's romantic pop song "Teenage Dream" with the caption "Creating memories together".
Tahnee and Ollie were the youngest, yet arguably most happy, couple to grace the show.
The pair hit it off instantly and remained content throughout.
They have not broken up since the show finished, as is clear from the joyful montage Ollie posted of their summer spent together.
Claire and Jesse experienced a rollercoaster of events during their time on the show. Although they were obviously compatible on their wedding day, the pair quickly started arguing on their honeymoon, which led Claire to go home early.
While living together in Sydney, Jesse accused Claire of cheating with other married cast member, Adam. Although Claire and Adam initially denied the allegations, she eventually came forward to admit lying in one of the biggest bomb-shell moments of the series.
Although they tried to make it work, the couple eventually called it quits at the fifth commitment ceremony.
Since the show, both Claire and Jesse have made it clear that they have moved on through a series of Instagram posts.
Claire took to the platform with the caption, "I really don't think I can deal with sad Jesse anymore. Might be home time for me. I miss my dog!"
While Jesse wrote, "Nefarious thoughts of all the mischief the boys and I will get up to post #MAFS 😈"
Janelle and Adam started off relatively strong, despite Adam's foreshadowing admission that he had once cheated in a previous relationship.
The couple remained together through Jesse's allegations that Adam had kissed his wife, Claire. Janelle was finally confronted with the truth that Adam had cheated on her when Claire came forward.
After which a fuming Janelle walked away from Adam and the experiment.
Janelle continues to post makeup content on her Instagram, where she has forged a career as a beauty influencer. Her relationship status is unknown.
Adam has remained tight-lipped since the series aired and little is known of his recent love life.
Sandy and Dan appeared solid throughout the first half of the series, with seemingly sensitive Dan embracing Sandy, who had gone against her parents’ cultural beliefs to appear on the show.
However, cracks started to show when Dan grew distant. Eventually Sandy called things off after Dan was overheard being rude about her on a night out.
After the show, Dan revealed he had already started dating nurse Samantha Symes. Samantha was one of the guests at their wedding, but he denied that he got with her during the show.
Sandy has kept her love life private, but appears to be enjoying life post-experiment with her new group of cast friends.
Caitlin and Shannon were something of a car crash couple.
Caitlin broke up with Shannon soon after he started suggesting that she was not his type, before professing his love for his ex, Jamea Drake, with whom he shared a four-year-old daughter.
It has been reported by multiple news and gossip sites that Shannon has got back together with his ex, Jamea.
Meanwhile, Caitlin is now working for fellow MAFS alum Melinda in a beauty salon.
Duncan and Alyssa were happily married for a while, but they encountered issues towards the end of the series.
Things took a turn during retreat week when Alyssa accused Duncan of not spending enough time with her. She said: "Since we’ve been here, you’ve literally just been with the boys. Like I literally haven't spoken to you or nothing, all day."
Eventually, Duncan called things off during the commitment ceremony, explaining that he felt like he was walking on eggshells around Alyssa.
Although the pair both live in the same area of Sydney, they have not been photographed together since filming ended.
Duncan has been linked to Evelyn from the series, after the pair sparked dating rumours when photos of them dancing together at a club in Sydney surfaced.
But Evelyn told Daily Mail Australia they are "just friends" and had enjoyed a fun night out together, but it was nothing more.
Late entries Rupert and Evelyn were a well-liked couple on the show. Rupert spent much of the wedding quaking and Evelyn was patient enough to allow Rupert to come out of his shell.
However, Evelyn opted not to continue their relationship beyond the experiment, citing Rupert's "lack of effort" as one of the reasons she was ending it.
Rupert appeared to take the break up in his stride, admitting that he didn't feel a spark either.
Since leaving the experiment, both remain dignified and amicable, with Rupert posting photos with friends alongside the positive caption "Enjoy a few from the past month and always eat the cake."
Uncompromising Tayla and laid-back Hugo were incompatible from the off.
Fans of the show were in no way shocked when the pair didn't work out after Tayla forced Hugo to sleep on a windowsill, and later the floor and sofa.
Things got worse on their honeymoon when Hugo asked Tayla what she was looking for in a partner, to which she replied: "It was probably someone the opposite of you. When I first saw you I thought… I don't think he's very sporty."
After a disastrous time on the retreat week, Tayla left the experiment to return home to Tasmania, without telling Hugo.
She later turned up half way through a dinner party to give Hugo "a second chance" – at which point he turned her away.
Tayla has since been linked to multiple people, including last season's Jackson Lonie and her on-off boyfriend, Daniel. Meanwhile, Hugo has reportedly started dating fitness influencer Carla Chatkiewicz.
